Om någon befinner sig i Tokyo imorgon fredagen den 5:e december kommer här ett tips på en spännande workshop som jag själv ska gå på
On December 5, this year's
Yayori Award winner Miho Kim and the
Asia-Japan Women's Resource Centre will be hosting a workshop on Unlearning Racism and Sexism. Some of the workshop goals include learning about how racismas a system of oppression operates in the US and Japan and developing common tools to proactively recognize and confront/reject racist andsexist behaviours.
Do not miss this great opportunity to hear the voice of an activist fighting against discrimination.

Workshop with 2008 Yayori Award Winner, Ms. Miho Kim
Racism as Our Personal Experience
-----------------------------------------------------------------
This year's Yayori Award, which supports women activists working at thegrass-roots level, was awarded to Ms. Miho Kim. Born into a Korean family permanently living in Japan, Ms. Kim now lives in California and engages herself in activities which encourage the systematically suppressed to free themselves from deep-rooted colonialism and militarism.
During the workshop, conversations and drawings will help you more thoroughly understand the system of racism in Japanese society, racism as an ideology, discrimination as a manifestation of racism and sexismin interpersonal space, and internalized oppression.
No prior knowledge with this topic is required―-just bring your personal experience as a starting point for discussion. If you have been a target of oppression or if you have harmed others in the past, share that experience with us. Talking about your personal experience will be the first step to liberation.
